Janet Reimer
1938-2026
We are saddened to report the passing of Scott Reimer's mother, Janet. She passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026. She had just celebrated her 88th birthday. She was born and raised in the South Shore neighborhood. She was named YMCA Citizen of the Year in 1955. She graduated from Northwestern University in 1959 with a degree in Elementary Education. A lifelong fiber artist, Janet served as President of the Weavers Guild of the North Shore in 1972-1973. She continued using her skills as an educator throughout her life.
Janet is survived by her husband of 66 years, Thomas Edward Reimer; her sons Scott Thomas Reimer and Craig Edward Reimer (Christen) and her daughter Amy Janet Reimer, and a number of grandchildren..
